Hazel Irene (Parks) Patterson, 84, of Conway, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. She was born March 11, 1931 in Conway to the late John and Doris Parks. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her son, Jim Patterson, three brothers, Harold Parks, William “Bud” Parks, and John Glenn Parks, and sister, Lola Caldwell.

Hazel was employed as a Register Nurse at Baptist Hospital, Conway Memorial and Meadowlake Nursing Home. She and her husband, Joe, along with L.C. and Beth Keathley started Keathley-Patterson Electric Co. in North Little Rock in 1964. Hazel was an avid reader and nature lover who enjoyed, traveling, painting and sketching. She spent many hours at the farm where they gardened and hand fed the friendliest herd of beef cattle in the countryside. Hazel was a free thinker who donated to many organizations, including, AETN, the Audubon Society, and the American Diabetes Association.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe O. Patterson, grandson, Christopher Patterson (Natalia) of Wooster, and great-grandson, Benjamin Clay Patterson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway (501) 327-7727, with Bro. Ed Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Wilson, Zach McMullan, Larry Martin, Erby Foster, John Bernard, and Doug Bonds. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-McNutt in Conway. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 10411 W. Markham Street, Suite 130, Little Rock, AR 72205 or AETN, 350 S. Donaghey, Conway, AR 72034.
