GREENLAND — Wes Stolz, 78, of Greenland, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 24, 1931, at Wichita, Kan., the son of George and Mable Stolz. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Dunbar.

He was a retired agri teacher at West Fork and Decatur public schools and field rep for Campbell Soup Company. He was also manager of the dairy farm at the University of Arkansas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived his wife of 58 years, Peggy Stolz; a daughter, Kathy Jones and her husband Jimmy of West Fork; two sons, John Stolz of Marysville, Mich., and Bruce Stolz and his wife Mindy of Greenland, Ark.; a sister, Ruth Smith and her husband Lynn of Vassar, Kan,; three brothers, Jim Stolz and his wife Mary of Springdale, Michael Stolz and his wife Bernie of Springdale and Ralph Stolz and his wife Carol of Windsor, Colo.; five grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Jackson Jones, Zachary Stolz, Dylan Stolz and Caitlyn Stolz; and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Greenland First Baptist Church and burial will be in Friendship Cemetery at West Fork, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel.

Memorials may be made to National Federation of the Blind, 200 E. Wells St., at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230.
