James Robert Jamell, 89, of Russellville, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at his home. He was born December 2, 1921, at Russellville, to Ollie Madane and Elizabeth Tumbleson Jamell.

He was a former social worker for the State of Arkansas, a United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a Mason, a Ruritan, attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the Old South Coffee Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, O. S. Jamell and Joe Jamell; and his step-mother, Jewel Jamell.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jean Andrews Jamell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa "T. J." and Bill Robbins of Russellville, Paula and Dr. Alan Storeygard of Cabot, and Beth and Col Steve Lake of Russellville; a brother, Sam H. Jamell of Russellville; a sister, Juanita Battles of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Tonia and Joe Hurley of Russellville, Ashley Miller of Russellville, Thomas Storeygard and Allison Storeygard of Cabot, and Capt Seth and Sarah Lake, Drew Lake and Zeke Lake, all of Russellville; three great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Jason Bodey.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Dr. Steve Mosley. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery near Appleton, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers will be Seth, Drew and Zeke Lake, Thomas Storeygard, Joe Hurley and John Mahoney.
