Dennis C. Sponer, 49, of Greenbrier died Thursday (Jan. 18, 2001) at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 21, 1951, in Morrilton, a son of Ernestine Briggler Sponer of Morrilton and the late Carl Sponer, he was a staff development coordinator with the Arkansas Forestry Commission and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was actively involved in the Wildland Fire Suppression, where he served as an information officer, safety officer and training specialist.
Other survivors are his wife, Diane Kellar Sponer; a daughter, Ashley Sponer of Greenbrier; three brothers, Alex Sponer of Monette (Craighead County), and Mark Sponer and Warren Sponer, both of Morrilton; and a sister, Carla Caudell of Perryville.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Thessing and Gaylon King officiating. Burial will be in Thorn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Benny Henderson Jr., Greg Potts, Mike Meaders, Scott Meaders, Josh Sponer and Shawn Sponer.
