Billy Steve Nowlin, 73, of Atkins, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at St. Vincent's in Little Rock.
He was born August 29, 1939, in Blackwell, the son of Charlie and Telitha Pope Nowlin. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Topsy Nowlin; and a son, Rickey Nowlin.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Hale; son, Timmy and wife Tammy Nowlin of Blackwell; daughter, Doylene and husband Willis Staggs of Blackwell; sister, Carolin and husband Paul Foshee; 7 grandchildren, Dustin Poteete, Daniel Poteete and wife Kristy, Justin Nowlin, Tiffany Borden, D'randa Johnston, Jessie Nowlin and Mattie Nowlin; 3 great-grandchildren, Ty Poteete, Charlie Poteete and Macie Poteete; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM Friday, November 23 at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Charles Kendrick officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday.
Pallbearers are Justin Nowlin, Everett Kelley, Randy Foshee, Rickey Bradley, Daniel Poteete and Kenneth Foshee.
