WEDINGTON COMMUNITY — Charles Eugene Sears, 87, a resident of the Wedington Community, passed away April 29, 2012, in Springdale, Ark. He was born April 20, 1925, at Lyman, Okla., the son of Charles Preston and Leona Clapp Sears.

He was a Marine serving in Iwo Jima during WW II, and a retired truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cecil Sears; three sisters, Faye Punches, Adabell and Mary Ruth Sears.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Icephine Loftin Sears of the home; two sons, Larry Sears and his wife Norell of Happy Jack, Ariz., and Kevin Sears and his wife Danita of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters, Gail True and her husband John of Farmington, Ark., and Charlene Sears of Fayetteville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, Sammy Biswell, Travis Biswell, Logan Biswell, Rebecca Olinghouse, Charles Earl Sears, Collene Leonhardt, Gary Sears, Daniel Sears, Deborah Anderson, John Sears, Susan Posey, and Brian Sears; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bert Sears of Las Vegas, Nev., and S.D. Sears of Shidler, Okla.; two sisters, Leona Mae McDonald of California, and Beatrice Kiser Gregory of Oklahoma City.

The family will visit with friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 9 to service time.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark. Interment will be in the Wedington Cemetery. Graveside services will not be held at the cemetery.
