George Henry Hudgens was born on September 11, 1911 to Henry and Rosie Parham Hudgens. He was converted at an early age and united with New Hope Baptist Church in Van Buren, Arkansas where he remained a faithful member until he moved to Dardanelle. He united with St. John Baptist Church and he was later ordained into deaconship during the pastorage of Rev. A. E. McKissic. He proved to be a faithful worker.

He served in such capacities as Sunday School teacher, Prayer Meeting Leader, Church Treasurer, Bible Class organizer, B.T.U. group leader, and he helped the young folk to get started in community athletic activities. He also worked with civic organizations.

He was united in holy matrimony with Miss Mary Cravens. To this union one son was born. This union was dissolved by death. He later married Alice Miller. He was a devoted husband and a loving father.

He leaves to mourn a devoted wife, two sons, one step-daughter, one step-son, one brother, three sisters, eight grandchildren, a daughter-in-law. and a host of nieces, nephews,and many many, friends.
