NEELEY, Mrs. Jay - Mrs. Jay Neeley died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Riggs Locke of Pierce City. Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Neeley were pioneers of Benton County, having lived more than 40 years ago on the site where the John Brown College at Sulphur Springs now stands. Mr. Neeley died about ten years ago and since that time Mrs. Neeley has lived with her children. There is surviving: Mrs. Mayme Hill, Fairland, Okla.; Mrs. Belle Locke, Pierce City, Mo.; Mrs. Cynthia Beard, Muskogee, Okla. and Ollie Neeley of Columbus, Miss.; Bob Neeley of Gravette and Will Neeley of Sulphur Springs. Burial was at the Butler Creek cemetery west of Sulphur Springs on Monday afternoon with Mrs. Martha Harris officiating.
