Obituary June 30, 1989
Greenbrier- Ark. Archie J. Troxell Sr., 90, a former state
representative and a retired conservationist, died Friday. He had
served as a charter member, deputy director and director of the Soil
Conservation Service. Mr. Troxell was associated with the agency for 35
years, and his assignments took him to all 75 counties in the state. He
also served in the State House of Representatives for two years and was
instrumental in developing WOOLLY HALLOW STATE PARK. Mr. Troxell was
Superintendent of Greenbrier Schools for ll years, a member of
Greenbrier United Methodist Church, and a Mason. Survivors are two sons,
Jack Troxell of Houston and Bill Troxell of Little Rock; a sister
Bernice Carr of Des Arc; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchilddren;
and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral will be at 2 pm Monday at
Greenbrier Unite Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Crestlawn
Mausoleum by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
