Mr. Ervin A. “E.A.” Norris, 87, of Conway, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008.
He was born November 12, 1920, in Barber, AR, a son of the late Holly B. Norris and Ruth Edna (Burge) Norris. He was a salesman for Rock-Tenn and retired after 45 years. Mr. Norris served in the Merchant Marines and was a member of the Robinson and Center Church of Christ of Conway. His playful spirit and wonderful sense of humor will remain in the memories of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of sixty-seven years, Mrs. Glynna D. (Hodges) Norris, two brothers, Alvin Norris and Lewis Norris, and by a sister, Janelle Schultz.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Ann and Dan Ratliff of Mayflower; granddaughters, Natalie (Ratliff) Rawls and husband Chad of Conway, Stephanie (Ratliff) Johnston and husband Steve of Cabot; great-granddaughter, Audrey Norris Rawls; great-grandsons, Kale Morgan Johnston and Cameron Michael Johnston; a brother, Dr. Lloyd Norris of Beebe; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, at the Robinson and Center Church of Christ. Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with Jerry Berry officiating. Entombment will follow at the Crestlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, 501-327-7727.
The family wishes to express special thanks to caregivers, Jennifer Richards, Kara Boggs and Judy Hansen and the entire Hospice Home Care staff for the love, compassion, and dignity that was given Mr. Norris. Memorials may be made to either Hospice Home Care, 2200 South Bowman Rd., Little Rock, Arkansas or the Southern Christian Children’s Home 100 Harding Street, Morrilton.
