Funeral services for David D.Franks, Sr., a Forrest City native, were held at Memphis Funeral Home Monday morning. He died last Thursday at the age of 67, after a short illness in Sunbeam, Idaho. Mr.Franks had lived in Forrest City until moving to Memphis in 1923. A former contractor in Memphis, he had re-located to Idaho about two years ago. Mr.Franks aunt, Fannie E.Myers, and cousins, Bob Myers and Ed Franks, live in Forrest City. He owned and operated Sunbeam Resort, poplular rendezvous and for fisherman and skiers, in Idaho. He was a Baptist. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs.Eleanor Bobbie Franks; a son, James D.Jr. of Memphis; a step-son, James K.Baucum of Lexington, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs.Lonnie Gookin of Memphis; a brother, W.J.Franks, also of Memphis; and eight grandchildren. Burial was in Forrest City Cemetery.
