Husband of Lois Lillian Jones Ramey
Sam Ramey, 79, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, in a local hospital. He was a retired ship-yard machinist in Hunters Point, Calif., an Army veteran of World War II, a Purple Heart recipient, a staff sergeant, a D.A.V. life member, of the Christian Science faith and attended Faith United Methodist Church.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Faith United Methodist Church with burial of cremains at Barling Cemetery in Barling under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Sammie Elizabeth Kaiser of Stockton, Calif. and Lillian A. Silverstone of Fort Smith; one sister, Mary Helen Blaylock of Rabun Gap, Ga.; four grandchildren, Sam, Jon and Mary Beth Silverstone and Nicholas Kaiser; and one stepgrandchild, Robert Silverstone.
Pallbearers will be Bill Cross, Norman and Paul Norvell, Jack Cleavenger, Tim Chapman and Scotter Wakefield.
