R.L. Joseph Dugas, 77, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Helena, Arkansas. Mr. Dugas was born May 9, 1934 in St. Martinville, Louisiana to the late Madison Dugas and the late Aureline Dayphne Dugas. He was a member and deacon of Lexa Baptist Church. He volunteered for many years for the Arkansas Valley Baptist Association-Disaster Relief.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Odle Dugas; a son, Randall Dugas (Kimberly) of Lexa; three daughters, Gina Lindsey (Billy) of Lexa, Cheryl Raney of Carlisle, Arkansas, and Lettie Ford (Dennis) of Lexa; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings, Eve, Rita and Adam Dugas.

Services for R.L. Joseph Dugas will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011 at Lexa Baptist Church in Lexa. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens, West Helena. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Tommy Jacobs and Reverend Dusty Rhodes will officiate.

Pallbearers are Billy “Bubba” Lindsey, William Shane Rutledge, Randall Joseph Dugas, Jose Luis Diaz, Santos “Danny” Miramontes, Jacob Newsom and Michael Green.

Memorials may be made to Lexa Baptist Church, PO Box 189, Lexa, Arkansas 72355.

Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
