Reverend Larry Lewis, 72, of Fort Smith, entered into rest, on Friday, January 18, 2008 in Fort Smith. He was born January 6, 1936 in Lamar, Arkansas the son of the late James and Viola Lewis. He was a retired Baptist Minister, a member of Eastside Baptist Church, former Associate Pastor of Immanuel Baptist in Rogers, former Pastor of Central Avenue Baptist in Bentonville, former Pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Cheryl and husband Terry Hatfield of Springdale, Karen Pope of Van Buren and Kathy Hightower of Greenwood; son, Mark and wife Traci Lewis of Van Buren; two brothers; Clarence and Earl Lewis both of Clarksville; sister, Lois Faubus of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren, Payton Hatfield, Katelyn Hatfield, Chandler Pope, Jackson and Riley Hightower, Samantha and Ashley Lewis. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Eastside Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Wally Portman with interment at Barling City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Webb, Ray Walker, Mike Alsup, Richard Goodrum, Pete Ramsey and Richard Schneider.
