Arthur L. "Butch" Jackson of Marianna, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 in Memphis. He was 62 years of age.
Butch was born on September 24, 1947 to Vernon and Mary Louise (Myers) Jackson in Alvin, Texas. He and Beatrice Lovelace were married on August 3, 1969 at Wall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church near Holub Crossing.
Butch made a living for his family as a farmer; and he was a member of Marianna Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed square dancing and motorcycles; and was a member of Brinkley Square Dance club, Christian Motorcycle Club and American Legion.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Butch is survived by his parents, Vernon and Mary Louise Jackson of Palestine, AR; his wife Bea of Marianna; sons Harry Vernon Jackson and wife Paula of Palestine; Darren Ray Jackson and wife Chastity of Forrest City, AR; daughter Karen Michelle Lawson of Marianna; grandchildren Cody Ray Jackson, Alan Craig Jackson, Dylan Ray Jackson, Caleb Lane Jackson, Riley Michelle Lawson, and Hunter Wyatt Lawson; sisters Ann "Sister" Mansel and husband Roger of Forrest City; Peggy McClurg and husband Ricky of Gill, AR; Glenda Anderson and husband Tony of Perry, AR; brothers Roy Jackson and wife Debbie of Forrest City; Robert Jackson of Conway, AR; and Milton Jackson of Avondale, AZ; one uncle, three aunts, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna, with Brother Mike Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.
