Leldon Joe Collins, 73, of Bald Knob, died Wednesday April 24, 2013. Leldon was the youngest of 12 children born to Robert and Ada Collins. He is preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters. His surviving sister is Dorothy Davis of Oakridge, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann, of 54 years; four daughters, Lori Martin (Mike) of Bald Knob, Lynn Burrow (William) of Judsonia, Leah Brannon (Todd) of Augusta, Lena Rath (Jason) of Searcy; 6 grandchildren, Micheal Martin, Tara McKnight, Kyle Martin, Lynlee Wilkins, Victoria Burrow, Cash Rath; four great grandchildren, Alexis and Hunter Mcknight and Brock and Karis Martin.
For 60 years, Leldon traveled the world working in the pipeline industry as a heavy equipment operator and inspector. He was a member of operators union 369 of Memphis ,TN. Through is job, he gave his family beautiful memories of traveling the country and overseas. He was well known in the pipeline industry as "Bull Collins" and was a dedicated and hard worker to provide for his family. He was a avid hunter, was a passionate gardener, had a love for horses.
Leldon was a giving soul who had a great love for his family and friends. Leldon was devout member of Saint Richards Catholic Church. Memorials can be made in Leldon's name to Saint Richards Catholic Church in Bald Knob.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia. A private family Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at Saint Richards Catholic Church in Bald Knob. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
