Merritt Vernon Sanders, 71, of Paragould, AR., died, as a result of a car accident, Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
He was born December 19, 1939, in Forrest City, AR., the son of the late Mount Vernon and Ruth Adams Sanders.
He was a retired business professor from Arkansas State University. Merritt loved the outdoors, hiking, jogging and fishing.
Merritt served his country in the Air Force Reserves.
Merritt is survived by his wife: Marcia Lane Sanders, of the home; daughter: Sara Sanders of Los Angeles, CA; stepdaughters: Jill Sloas and her husband Michael of Paragould, Farrah Ollis and her husband Brandon of Jonesboro; sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Jerry Gready of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Zoe and Ben Sloas and Abby and Andrew Ollis; parents-in-law: John and Mary Lane of Paragould.
There was a private family services with Stevens Funeral Home in Forrest City in charge.
