BELLA VISTA — Willard Inman Lewis, 84, of Bella Vista died July 26, 2000, at his home in Bella Vista. He was born Jan. 13, 1916, near Rulo, Neb., to Willard I. and Cora Inman Lewis. He and his wife moved to Bella Vista in 1979 from Falls City, Neb., where he had owned Lewis Automotive Repair Service. He was a farmer, a trucker, an automobile repairman, and he worked for the railroad. He had received a 50-year membership pin from the Grand Masonic Lodge in Nebraska, the Grand Masonic Lodge in Arkansas and the Order of the Eastern Star in Arkansas. He was a past Grand High Priest of Royal Arch Masons in Nebraska, a past Prior of Sir Galahad Priory in Nebraska and was an assistant custodian of the Grand Masonic Lodge in Nebraska for 24 years. He was a member and officeholder in the Rotary Club in Nebraska and in the Lions Club in Arkansas. He was a charter member of the Bella Vista Crime Watch and a member of the Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church in Bella Vista. He enjoyed golf, bowling and computers.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lewis of Bella Vista, to whom he was married 64 years; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lewis and Virginia of Austin, Texas, Wayne Lewis and Susan of Lincoln, Neb., and Harold Lewis and Pamela of Lexington, Ky.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Margaret Ann Turner of Irving, Texas, and Elaine Penkava and Thomas of Loveland, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista with the Rev. Larry Williams and the Rev. Thomas S. Stone officiating. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, 72714. or Circle of Life Hospice, 610 E. Emma Ave., Springdale, 72764.
