Aubie M. Harness 76, of Clinton went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 28, 2007. He was born September 9, 1930 in Shirley, AR. to the late Bart Harness and Ethel Huggins Harness.

He married Olivia Jean Smith in 1955. After 4 years in the Navy, the couple settled in California where they lived for 45 years before retiring to Clinton.

He worked as a lumber salesman for several years before starting his own lumber business, Harness Timber Products from which he retired after 20 years.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters Milda Erby and Della Harness.

Survivors are his loving wife Jean of Clinton; 3 daughters Sandra Flynn and husband Mark of Grand Rapids, MI.; Susan Harness of Palo Alto,CA.; Pamela Harness of Clinton; 2 grandchildren Lindsay and Ryan Flynn; 2 sisters Annabee Kirkendoll and husband Howard; Opal McDonald; brother Alfred Harness; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Aubie enjoyed family gatherings, golf, traveling and visiting with friends, church work and helping others.

Visitations are from 5-7pm Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Services 10am Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the Pee Dee Baptist Church with interment following. Memorials may be made to the Pee Dee Baptist Building Fund or Van Buren County Special School.
