Harold Moore Bruce, 86, of Powhatan, died April 1, 2014 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge. He was born July 3, 1927 in Calamine to Clarence and Mabel Moore Bruce. On June 16, 1959, he married Bobbie Kathryn Clark in Black Rock. He worked for the USDA Farmers Home Ad for 25 years, was an Army veteran, and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Black Rock.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Robert, Wallace, and Ernest Bruce; sisters, Bertha Gill and Martha Lackey.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie of the home; children, Stephen Bruce of Cherokee Village, Karen Garrett of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Winston Bruce of Evans, GA; brother, Calvin Bruce of Ft. Meyers, FL; sister, Alice Foley of Powhatan; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5th, at 10:00 am at the United Methodist Church in Black Rock under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Jim West officiating. Burial will follow in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan.
