*Obituary
Ronald Walker Crawford, 77, of Warner Robins, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, April 11, 2021. He was born March 27, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mary Jeanette and Guy "Buster" Walker Crawford.
"Ronnie", along with his sister Marilyn, grew up in the Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene where his father Buster was known for playing the violin. Ron later attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Engineering. He met the love of his life, Karen, in a cafe in Dallas, Texas and they wed August 31, 1968.
Ron and Karen welcomed their first son, Ryan Douglas, in Sacramento, California in 1973. In 1974, they settled in Warner Robins, Georgia, where Ron was an Electronics Engineer in Building 640 on Robins AFB. Shortly thereafter, they joined Trinity United Methodist Church and later welcomed their second son, Russell Walker, in 1979.
Called "Pop" by his children and grandchildren, Ron was pure of heart, generous of spirit, and a devoted Christian and family man who loved the game of golf. He instilled this love in his family, for whom he was both dedicated coach and friendly rival. He was maddeningly consistent and still managed to beat his entire family up to the very end of his life. An active member of the Southern Landings Golf Community, Ron could often be seen in the late afternoon hitting golf balls back to the driving range from his backyard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guy and his mother, Jeanette. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Karen Crawford; his two sons, Ryan and Russell; grandchildren, Joseph; Hannah; Sam; and Henry; sister, Marilyn; along with many other family members and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in Ron's name to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm, Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway. A graveside service will follow at 2 pm, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5N.
